Measuring Steps: 1. Measure all piles individually—differences of 2-3 inches are common even if they were installed simultaneously. 2. Use a piece of string to wrap around the pole. 3. Lay the string flat and measure its length. 4. Refer to our Circumference Conversion Chart found in the images section by clicking on the relevant image and printing it out. 5. Alternatively, you can calculate the diameter by dividing the length of the string by π (Pi, approximately 3.14159). 6. Another option is to utilize an online Circumference Calculator: input the length of the string to receive the diameter instantly.

Example Calculation: If the length of the string is 25 inches, dividing by π gives approximately 7.96 inches, necessitating an 8-inch piling cap.
